62A.54 PROHIBITED PRACTICES.
Unless otherwise provided for in sections 62A.46 to 62A.56, the solicitation or sale of
long-term care policies is subject to the requirements and penalties applicable to the sale of
Medicare supplement insurance policies as set forth in sections 62A.3099 to 62A.44.
It is misconduct for any agent or company to make any misstatements concerning eligibility
or coverage under the medical assistance program, or about how long-term care costs will or
will not be financed if a person does not have long-term care insurance. Any agent or company
providing information on the medical assistance program shall also provide information about
how to contact the county human services department or the state Department of Human Services.
