4665.5400 EMERGENCY AND UNUSUAL OCCURRENCE.

In the event of an emergency or unusual occurrence, such as hospitalization, serious illness, accident, imminent death, or death, the resident's parent or others who maintain a close relationship with the patient shall be notified. The wishes of the resident and a parent about religious matters shall be determined and followed as closely as possible. In case of accident:

A.

appropriate measures for the care and safety of the resident shall be undertaken; and

B.

an accident report shall be made for use by the facility, and in case of injury, all relevant legal requirements shall be complied with.

This includes Minnesota Statutes, section 626.554 relating to reporting of possible child abuse or neglect, as well as Minnesota Statutes, section 626.557, relating to abuse or neglect of residents of facilities licensed pursuant to Minnesota Statutes, sections 144.50 to 144.58.
