A bill for an act
proposing an amendment to the Minnesota Constitution by adding a section to
article XIII; recognizing as a valid domestic legal union only a marriage between
a man and a woman.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

An amendment to the Minnesota Constitution is proposed to the people. If the
amendment is adopted, a section shall be added to article XIII, to read:

A marriage between a man and a woman is the only domestic legal union that
shall be valid or recognized in this state.

Sec. 2. new text begin QUESTION.

The proposed amendment shall be submitted to the people at the 2006 general
election. The question submitted shall be:

"Shall the Minnesota Constitution be amended to provide that only a marriage
between a man and a woman is a valid domestic legal union?
