relating to transportation; permitting deputy registrar office to be moved in city of New Prague.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

new text begin Notwithstanding Minnesota Statutes, section 168.33; Minnesota Rules, parts 7406.0350 and 7406.0355, or successor rules; or any other rules adopted by the commissioner of public safety limiting sites for the office of deputy registrar based on (1) moving the deputy registrar office to a new location, (2) the distance to an existing deputy registrar office, or (3) the annual volume of transactions processed by any deputy registrar, the commissioner of public safety shall by May 31, 2008, grant a variance to the State Bank of New Prague to move its office of deputy registrar within the limits of the city of New Prague from Scott County to Le Sueur County, with full authority to function as a registration and motor vehicle tax collection deputy registrar. All other provisions regarding the operation of a deputy registrar of motor vehicles under Minnesota Statutes, section 168.33, and Minnesota Rules, chapter 7406, apply to the office.
