BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

new text begin The commissioner of labor and industry shall provide information to medical care providers, employers, employees, insurers, and other individuals and organizations involved in the workers' compensation system in Minnesota regarding federal exclusions from state workers' compensation coverage under Minnesota Statutes, section 176.041, subdivision 1. new text end

Sec. 2.

new text begin REPORT. new text end

new text begin The commissioner of labor and industry shall submit a report by March 1, 2008, to the committees of the house of representatives and senate with jurisdiction over workers' compensation issues detailing the department's dissemination of information required under section 1. new text end

Sec. 3.

new text begin EFFECTIVE DATE. new text end

new text begin Sections 1 and 2 are effective the day following final enactment. new text end
