relating to local government; authorizing three-year terms for members of the Houston County Economic Development Authority.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

new text begin Notwithstanding Minnesota Statutes, section 469.095 or 469.1082, the governing body of Houston County may, by resolution, provide for three-year terms for members appointed to the Houston County Economic Development Authority. The resolution shall provide a transition schedule and shall provide for staggered terms. new text end

Sec. 2.

new text begin This section is effective the day after the governing body of Houston County and its chief clerical officer comply with Minnesota Statutes, section 645.021, subdivisions 2 and 3. new text end
