relating to school board elections; authorizing Special School District No. 6, South St. Paul, to dissolve election districts.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

new text begin DISSOLUTION OF ELECTION DISTRICTS IN SPECIAL SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 6, SOUTH ST. PAUL. new text end

new text begin Notwithstanding Minnesota Statutes, section 205A.12, subdivision 7, or any other law, Special School District No. 6, South St. Paul, may by resolution dissolve election districts previously established. The resolution must include a plan for the orderly transition to at-large elections of school board members. new text end

new text begin This section is effective the day after the governing body of Special School District No. 6, South St. Paul, and its chief clerical officer timely complete their compliance with Minnesota Statutes, section 645.021, subdivisions 2 and 3. new text end
