BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

new text begin The commissioner of human services shall initiate procedures no later than July 1, 2012, to enter into a reciprocal agreement with Bermuda for the establishment and enforcement of child support obligations pursuant to United States Code, title 42, section 659a(d). new text end

new text begin EFFECTIVE DATE. new text end

new text begin This section is effective upon Bermuda's written acceptance and agreement to enforce Minnesota child support orders. If Bermuda does not accept and declines to enforce Minnesota orders, this section expires December 31, 2013. new text end
