An act

relating to the military; authorizing state active service and pay for armory rentals;

amending Minnesota Statutes 2016, section 190.08, by adding a subdivision.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

Minnesota Statutes 2016, section 190.08, is amended by adding a subdivision to read:

new text begin Order to temporary state active service for armory rental support. new text end

new text begin The adjutant general may order to temporary state active service, with their consent, current or former officers, warrant officers, and enlisted personnel of the National Guard of the state required for the rental of an armory under chapter 193. This service does not accrue rights under any other subdivision. The adjutant general shall establish pay rates and policy for service authorized under this subdivision, and is not required to pay for such service in accordance with section 190.08, subdivision 6, or section 192.49. new text end
