                  An act relating to employment; requiring leaves of 
                  absence without pay for employees rendering services 
                  as members of the civil air patrol; proposing coding 
                  for new law in Minnesota Statutes, chapter 181. 
        BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
           Section 1.  [181.946] [LEAVE FOR CIVIL AIR PATROL SERVICE.] 
           Subdivision 1.  [DEFINITIONS.] For purposes of this 
        section, "employee" and "employer" have the meanings given them 
        in section 181.945. 
           Subd. 2.  [UNPAID LEAVE REQUIRED.] Unless the leave would 
        unduly disrupt the operations of the employer, an employer shall 
        grant a leave of absence without pay to an employee for time 
        spent rendering service as a member of the civil air patrol on 
        the request and under the authority of the state or any of its 
        political subdivisions.
