                        CHAPTER 134--S.F.No. 1067
           An act relating to crimes; exempting participants in 
          supervised research programs from arrest for certain 
          driving violations; amending Minnesota Statutes 1982, 
          section 169.121, by adding a subdivision.  
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
    Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 1982, section 169.121, is 
amended by adding a subdivision to read:  
    Subd. 10.  [RESEARCH PROGRAMS.] No person is guilty of a 
violation of this section committed while participating in a 
research or demonstration project conducted by the Minnesota 
highway safety center created pursuant to section 136.147.  This 
subdivision applies only to conduct occurring while operating a 
state-owned vehicle under the supervision of personnel of the 
center on the grounds of the center.  
    Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
    This act is effective the day after final enactment.
