  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to the county of Kittson; granting the county 
  1.3             board limited authority to initiate the dissolution of 
  1.4             towns in the county having a certain population. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [AUTHORITY TO DISSOLVE CERTAIN TOWNS.] 
  1.7      The county board of Kittson county may, on its own 
  1.8   initiative, dissolve a town located in the county that has a 
  1.9   population of less than five full-time residents.  The 
  1.10  dissolution must occur according to the procedures in Minnesota 
  1.11  Statutes, sections 365.45 to 365.49, except that no election is 
  1.12  required. 
  1.13     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.14     Section 1 is effective the day after the governing body of 
  1.15  Kittson county and its chief clerical officer timely complete 
  1.16  their compliance with Minnesota Statutes, section 645.021, 
  1.17  subdivisions 2 and 3.
