 relating to capital investment; appropriating money for the Now EMERGE Career
and Technology Center.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

CENTER.

new text begin $850,000 is appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner of employment and
economic development for a grant to EMERGE Community Development to retire the
remaining debt for the design, construction, and rehabilitation of the former North Branch
Library in Minneapolis, the first open shelf library in the United States and Minnesota's
oldest standing library, to serve as a technology-focused workforce development center and
community space.
