A bill for an act
relating to human services; appropriating money for mental health treatment for
communities of color.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin APPROPRIATION; MENTAL HEALTH TREATMENT FOR
COMMUNITIES OF COLOR.

new text begin $4,200,000 in fiscal year 2018 is appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner
of human services for the commissioner to award grants to eligible applicants for projects
directed at providing mental health treatment for communities of color. The grant recipients
shall utilize evidence-based intergenerational models of healing to create new strategies to
effectively serve low-income communities of color. This is a onetime appropriation and the
funds are available until expended.
