A bill for an act
 relating to construction licensing; modifying registration of unlicensed individuals
performing electrical work; amending Minnesota Statutes 2016, section 326B.33,
subdivision 13.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

Minnesota Statutes 2016, section 326B.33, subdivision 13, is amended to read:


Subd. 13.

Registration of unlicensed individuals.

Unlicensed individuals performing
electrical work for a contractor or employer shall register with the department in the manner
prescribed by the commissioner. Experience credit for electrical work performed in Minnesota
after January 1, 2009, by an applicant for a license identified in this section shall not be
granted where the applicant has not registered with or is not licensed by the departmentdeleted text begin .deleted text end new text begin ,
unless:

new text begin (1) the unlicensed individual has completed the hours of experience with one employer;
and
