A bill for an act
relating to transportation; requiring the commissioner of transportation to report
to the legislature on the intersection of Highway 55 and Wilkin County Road 19.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

INTERSECTION OF HIGHWAY 55 AND WILKIN COUNTY ROAD 19.

new text begin By April 15, 2017, the commissioner of transportation must report to the chairs and
ranking minority members of the senate and house of representatives committees and
divisions with jurisdiction over transportation policy and finance concerning the issue of
trucks stopping on Wilkin County Road 19 between Highway 55 and the railroad tracks
north of Highway 55. The commissioner must identify project options that would allow
trucks to safely stop at this intersection, including an option to add a turn lane on County
Road 19. For each identified project, the commissioner must include an estimated cost and
the estimated time to complete the project. In preparing the report, the commissioner must
consult with the Minn-Dak Farmers Cooperative, the city of Nashua, the town of Champion,
and Wilkin County.
