A bill for an act
 relating to transportation; requiring MnDOT to build a turn lane or install traffic
lights on Highway 55 at County Road 19.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin TURN LANE REQUIRED ON HIGHWAY 55 AT COUNTY ROAD 19.

new text begin The commissioner of transportation must (1) design and construct a turn lane on the
north side of the intersection of Wilkin County Road 19 with Highway 55, or (2) install a
four-way traffic light at the intersection. The project must be designed so that a school bus
or semitrailer is able to stop at the intersection without extending into cross-traffic or over
the railroad tracks. Planning and construction of the project must start in the 2017
construction season. The project must be completed with existing appropriations.
