A bill for an act
relating to higher education; appropriating money for tuition reductions at
Minnesota State Colleges.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin TUITION REDUCTION APPROPRIATION.

new text begin $....... in fiscal year 2018 and $....... in fiscal year 2019 are appropriated from the general
fund to the Board of Trustees of the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities for tuition
reduction at state colleges. For the 2017-2018 academic year, the tuition rate at colleges
must be reduced by at least one percent compared to the 2016-2017 academic year rate. For
the 2018-2019 academic year, the tuition rate at colleges must not exceed the 2017-2018
academic year rate.
