A bill for an act
relating to economic development; appropriating money for a grocery store and
wellness center in north Minneapolis.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin PILLSBURY UNITED COMMUNITIES; APPROPRIATION.

new text begin $3,000,000 is appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner of employment
and economic development for a grant to Pillsbury United Communities for architectural
engineering, construction, and renovation of a building in north Minneapolis for use as a
grocery store and wellness center, focused on healthy food and health care access, job
creation, and economic opportunity for children and families. This appropriation is not
available until at least an equal amount of money is committed from nonstate sources. This
appropriation is available until the project is completed or abandoned, subject to Minnesota
Statutes, section 16A.642.
