A bill for an act
relating to transportation; appropriating money for transportation management
organizations in the Twin Cities metropolitan area; proposing coding for new law
in Minnesota Statutes, chapter 174.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

new text begin [174.47] TRANSPORTATION MANAGEMENT ORGANIZATIONS.

new text begin (a) $150,000 is annually appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner of
transportation for grants to transportation management organizations that provide services
exclusively or primarily in the city located along the marked Interstate Highway 494 corridor
having the highest population as of the effective date of this section. The commissioner
must not retain any portion of the funds appropriated under this section. From the
appropriation in each fiscal year, the commissioner must make grant payments in full by
July 31.

programming and service expansion, including but not limited to staffing, communications,
outreach and education program development, and operations management.
