BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin COMPLIANCE WITH THE PRISON RAPE ELIMINATION ACT.

new text begin $943,000 in fiscal year 2018 and $1,068,000 in fiscal year 2019 are appropriated from
the general fund to the commissioner of corrections to ensure compliance with the federal
Prison Rape Elimination Act regulations, including system maintenance and adding
correctional officers to meet staff-to-offender ratio requirements, at the Minnesota
Correctional Facility-Red Wing.
