relating to agriculture; appropriating money to the Agricultural Utilization Research
Institute.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin APPROPRIATION; AGRICULTURAL UTILIZATION RESEARCH
INSTITUTE (AURI).

new text begin (a) $680,000 in fiscal year 2018 and $620,000 in fiscal year 2019 are appropriated from
the general fund to the Agricultural Utilization Research Institute (AURI) for:

new text begin (1) construction of a development kitchen and sensory lab at AURI's Marshall facility;
new text end

new text begin (2) safety and security upgrades at AURI's Marshall facility;
new text end

new text begin (3) communications and information technology upgrades at the Crookston, Marshall,
and Waseca facilities;
new text end

new text begin (4) laboratory renovations and equipment upgrades at AURI's Waseca facility; and
new text end

new text begin (5) maintaining current levels of service and to meet increasing service demands.

new text begin (b) $280,000 of the amount appropriated in fiscal year 2019 is added to the base for
fiscal years 2020 and 2021.
