A bill for an act
relating to natural resources; appropriating money to study the presence of
neonicotinoid pesticides in wild deer.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin APPROPRIATION; WILD DEER PESTICIDE STUDY.

new text begin (a) The commissioner of natural resources, in consultation with the commissioners of
agriculture and health, the University of Minnesota and other relevant land grant universities,
and the United States Fish and Wildlife Service, shall determine whether and to what extent
neonicotinoid pesticides are present in the tissue of wild deer in Minnesota. No later than
February 15, 2018, the commissioner of natural resources shall report findings to the
legislative committees with jurisdiction over natural resources, agriculture, and health.

commissioner of natural resources for purposes of paragraph (a).
