A bill for an act
relating to state government; requiring all governors' portraits to be displayed in
the State Capitol at all times; proposing coding for new law in Minnesota Statutes,
chapter 138.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

new text begin A portrait of each former Minnesota governor must be publicly displayed in the State
Capitol at all times. The Minnesota Historical Society and the Capitol Area Architectural
and Planning Board shall determine locations for the governors' portraits in any of the
following spaces: the rotunda, public hallways or corridors, the public gallery and orientation
area, or any other area of the State Capitol designed for public ceremonies.
