A bill for an act
relating to housing; appropriating money to the Minnesota Housing Finance Agency
for the economic development and housing challenge program.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

new text begin (a) $22,925,000 in fiscal year 2026 and $12,925,000 in fiscal year 2027 are appropriated
from the general fund to the commissioner of the Minnesota Housing Finance Agency for
the economic development and housing challenge program under Minnesota Statutes, section
462A.33, and the low- and moderate-income housing programs under Minnesota Statutes,
section 462A.07, subdivision 14.

new text begin (b) Of this amount, $1,208,000 in fiscal year 2026 and each year thereafter shall be made
available during the first 11 months of the fiscal year exclusively for housing projects for
American Indians. Any funds not committed to housing projects for American Indians
within the annual consolidated request for funding processes may be available for any
eligible activity under Minnesota Statutes, sections 462A.33 and 462A.07, subdivision 14.
