A bill for an act
relating to arts and cultural heritage; appropriating money to Isuroon.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin APPROPRIATION; ISUROON.

new text begin (a) $2,500,000 in fiscal year 2026 is appropriated from the arts and cultural heritage
fund to the commissioner of administration for a grant to Isuroon, a nonprofit organization
dedicated to empowering ethnic women through cultural preservation, social connection,
and mental wellness initiatives.

new text begin (b) The money must be used to support arts, cultural heritage, and wellness programs
tailored specifically to ethnic women through:

new text begin (1) annual arts and culture celebrations that uplift ethnic women's voices through music,
dance, storytelling, and visual arts;
new text end

new text begin (2) public art installations and exhibitions showcasing the artistic contributions of ethnic
women in Minnesota;
new text end

new text begin (3) culturally responsive workshops and educational programs designed to engage ethnic
women and girls in traditional and contemporary artistic practices;
new text end

new text begin (4) programs that foster social connections and mental wellness by providing safe spaces
for ethnic women to express themselves through art, dance, and community gatherings;
new text end

new text begin (5) healing-centered cultural activities that promote emotional well-being and resilience,
particularly for ethnic women facing isolation or trauma;
new text end

new text begin (6) collaborations with female artists, cultural institutions, and community organizations
to elevate the role of ethnic women in Minnesota's artistic and cultural landscape; and
new text end

new text begin (7) media and storytelling projects that document and amplify the experiences, heritage,
and evolving cultural identity of ethnic women.

new text begin (c) This appropriation is available until June 30, 2027.
