A bill for an act
 relating to human services; appropriating money for transitional housing renovation
and construction.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin APPROPRIATION; TRANSITIONAL HOUSING RENOVATION AND
CONSTRUCTION.

new text begin $....... in fiscal year 2026 is appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner of
human services for grants to eligible recipients under Minnesota Statutes, section 256K.48.
The eligible recipients must use the grant funds to: (1) renovate existing facilities not
currently operating as transitional housing sites into transitional housing sites; (2) renovate
existing transitional housing sites; (3) construct new transitional housing sites; or (4) improve
the safety, sanitation, accessibility, and habitability of existing transitional housing sites.
This is a onetime appropriation.
