A bill for an act
relating to education; requiring the Minnesota State High School League to sanction
cricket.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

new text begin Sanctioned activity. new text end

new text begin The Minnesota State High School League must add
cricket to the list of interscholastic athletic activities under its jurisdiction in accordance
with the implementation deadlines under subdivision 2. The league governing board must
amend the league bylaws to select an appropriate season for cricket and make other necessary
determinations regarding participation. To the extent practicable, the league must establish
a spring season for cricket.

new text begin The league must establish a cricket advisory group and
introduce pilot programs in at least three schools during the 2025-2026 school year. During
the 2026-2027 school year, the league must expand participation to additional schools and
finalize rules relating to cricket competitions. The league must complete all activities or
changes necessary to implement a regular cricket season as a league-sanctioned activity
prior to the 2027-2028 school year.
