A bill for an act
relating to veterans; modifying eligibility for burial in state veterans cemeteries;
appropriating money; amending Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 197.236,
subdivision 8.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
Section 1.
Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 197.236, subdivision 8, is amended to read:
Subd. 8.
Eligibility.
Cemeteries must be operated solely for the burial of service members
who die on active duty, eligible veterans, deleted text begin anddeleted text end their spouses and dependent children, as
defined in United States Code, title 38, section 101, paragraph (2)new text begin , and honorably discharged
members of the National Guard or a reserve component of the United States armed forcesnew text end .
