A bill for an act
relating to transportation; modifying requirements on use of certain state and
regional sources of funds allocated to metropolitan counties; amending Minnesota
Statutes 2024, section 174.49, subdivision 6.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 174.49, subdivision 6, is amended to read:


Subd. 6.

Metropolitan counties; use of funds.

(a) A metropolitan county must use
funds that are received under subdivision 5 as follows:

(1)new text begin not more thannew text end 41.5 percent for deleted text begin active transportation and transportation corridor safety
studies
deleted text end new text begin multimodal purposes as specified in paragraph (b)new text end ;new text begin and

(i) repair, preservation, and rehabilitation of transportation systems; and

(ii) roadway replacement to reconstruct, reclaim, or modernize a corridor deleted text begin without adding
traffic capacity, except for auxiliary lanes with a length of less than 2,500 feet; and

new text begin (b) A metropolitan county may use the amount under paragraph (a), clause (1), for:

maintenance, demand response service, and assistance to replacement service providers

the obligations are issued for a use allowable under this section.
