A bill for an act
relating to capital investment; appropriating money for a food bank facility in the
city of Duluth.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin APPROPRIATION; SECOND HARVEST NORTHLAND FOOD BANK.

new text begin $6,000,000 in fiscal year 2025 is appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner
of employment and economic development for a grant to Second Harvest Northland Food
Bank to construct and renovate an expansion of a facility in the city of Duluth to serve as
a food bank. This appropriation also includes money to purchase and install a new cooler
and freezer system in the facility. This appropriation is available when the commissioner
of management and budget determines that $6,000,000 of nonstate funds have been
committed to complete the project. This appropriation is onetime and is available until the
project is completed or abandoned, subject to Minnesota Statutes, section 16A.642.
