A bill for an act
relating to capital investment; appropriating money for capital improvements at
the Mesabi Fit Coalition facility in the city of Mountain Iron.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin APPROPRIATION; MESABI FIT COALITION.

new text begin $3,600,000 in fiscal year 2025 is appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner
of employment and economic development for a grant to Mesabi Fit Coalition, a 501(c)(3)
nonprofit organization, to construct, renovate, furnish, and equip improvements and
betterments of a capital nature to renovate and expand the existing Mesabi Fit Coalition
facility located in the city of Mountain Iron. This appropriation includes money for Americans
with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliance upgrades, locker room renovations, new windows
and doors, new hot tub and sauna facilities, a new gym floor, and a concession area. This
appropriation is onetime and is available until the project is completed or abandoned, subject
to Minnesota Statutes, section 16A.642.
