A bill for an act
relating to education finance; providing for licensed school teacher salary increases;
appropriating money.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Notwithstanding the requirements of Minnesota Statutes, chapter 179A, the commissioner
of education must allocate to school districts sufficient revenue to enable school districts
to increase the salary paid to licensed school teachers as defined in Minnesota Statutes,
section 179A.03, subdivision 18, by $10,000 during the 2024-2025 school year. For a
licensed school teacher whose full-time equivalent is less than 1.0, the amount must be
prorated based on the fraction of a full-time equivalent reflected in the teacher's contract.
The additional amount paid to a teacher must be added to the base salary of the licensed
school teacher.

This section is effective the day following final enactment.

appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner of education in the fiscal years
designated.
