A bill for an act
relating to capital investment; appropriating money for the Latino Museum of
Minnesota.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin LATINO MUSEUM; APPROPRIATION.

new text begin $10,000,000 in fiscal year 2023 is appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner
of employment and economic development for a grant to the Latino Museum of Minnesota
to acquire land and to predesign, design, construct, furnish, and equip a cultural facility to
be used for a museum that focuses on promoting and preserving Latino historical artifacts
and art forms, including documentaries, film, dance, music, and visual, written, and print
forms to advance the richness of Minnesota's Latino cultural identity. This appropriation is
available until the project is completed or abandoned, subject to Minnesota Statutes, section
16A.642.
