A bill for an act
relating to child welfare; appropriating money for parent support grants.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin APPROPRIATION; PARENT SUPPORT FOR BETTER OUTCOMES
GRANTS.

new text begin $150,000 in fiscal year 2022 and $150,000 in fiscal year 2023 are appropriated from the
general fund to the commissioner of human services for grants to Minnesota One-Stop for
Communities to provide mentoring, guidance, and support services to parents navigating
the child welfare system in Minnesota, in order to promote the development of safe, stable,
and healthy families. Grant money may be used for parent mentoring, peer-to-peer support
groups, housing support services, training, staffing, and administrative costs. The base
funding for these grants is $150,000 in fiscal year 2024 and thereafter.
