A bill for an act
relating to capital investment; appropriating money for capital improvements to
the Northrup King Building.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin NORTHRUP KING BUILDING; APPROPRIATION.

new text begin $1,720,000 in fiscal year 2023 is appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner
of employment and economic development for a grant to the city of Minneapolis for
improvement and betterments of a capital nature to renovate and restore the historic Northrup
King Building campus, the preservation of which serves a public purpose. This appropriation
is not available until the commissioner of management and budget has determined the project
has secured sufficient nonstate resources to complete the project. This is a onetime
appropriation and is available until the project is completed or abandoned, subject to
Minnesota Statutes, section 16A.642.
