A bill for an act
 relating to local government; modifying Hennepin County library director
qualifications; amending Minnesota Statutes 2018, section 383B.241.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

Minnesota Statutes 2018, section 383B.241, is amended to read:


383B.241 DIRECTOR.

The library director shall perform administrative and technical duties for the library
system and exercise the powers and perform the duties delegated to the director by the
county board. The library director shall be appointed and removed by the county
administrator, with approval by the county board, pursuant to section 383B.102. Prior to
the appointment or removal of the library director, the library board shall make
recommendations to the county administrator. The library director shall be qualified by
experience and deleted text beginmust have an earned degree from a graduate school accredited by the
