  1.2             relating to St. Louis county; repealing special 
  1.3             purchasing laws for St. Louis county; repealing 
  1.4             Minnesota Statutes 2000, sections 383C.33; 383C.331; 
  1.5             383C.332; 383C.333; 383C.334; 383C.335; 383C.336; 
  1.6             383C.337; 383C.338; and 383C.34. 
  1.7   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.8      Section 1.  [REPEALER.] 
  1.9      Minnesota Statutes 2000, sections 383C.33; 383C.331; 
  1.10  383C.332; 383C.333; 383C.334; 383C.335; 383C.336; 383C.337; 
  1.11  383C.338; and 383C.34, are repealed. 
  1.12     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE; NO LOCAL APPROVAL.] 
  1.13     (a) Section 1 is effective July 1, 2001. 
  1.14     (b) Section 1 does not require local approval as it fits 
  1.15  within Minnesota Statutes, section 645.023, subdivision 1, 
  1.16  paragraph (b), because it brings a local government unit within 
  1.17  the general law by repealing special laws.
