A bill for an act
relating to human services; appropriating money to fund emergency and transitional
housing, health services, and additional regional navigators for sexually exploited
youth.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin APPROPRIATION; HOUSING FOR SEXUALLY EXPLOITED YOUTH
AND YOUTH AT RISK OF SEXUAL EXPLOITATION.

new text begin $500,000 in fiscal year 2021 is appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner
of human services under Minnesota Statutes, section 256K.45, subdivision 1, for emergency
shelter and transitional and long-term housing beds for sexually exploited youth and youth
at risk of sexual exploitation. In distributing funds under this paragraph, the commissioner
shall prioritize activities that promote capacity building and development of resources in
greater Minnesota. This appropriation is added to the base.

SERVICES.

new text begin (a) $500,000 in fiscal year 2021 is appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner
of health for trauma-informed, culturally specific services for sexually exploited youth under
Minnesota Statutes, section 145.4716. This appropriation is added to the base.

of health for additional regional navigators under Minnesota Statutes, section 145.4717.
