A bill for an act
relating to higher education; requiring Minnesota State Colleges and Universities
to provide institutions more flexibility in qualifying secondary teachers to teach
concurrent enrollment courses.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

new text begin The Board of Trustees of the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities must revise its
college faculty qualifications policy to provide institutions more flexibility to allow qualified
secondary teachers to teach concurrent enrollment courses under Minnesota Statutes, section
124D.09, subdivision 10. For career, technical, and professional credential fields, revisions
required under this section must include but are not limited to allowing an institution to
waive the recency requirement for occupational experience based on previous secondary
teaching experience.
