A bill for an act
 relating to transportation; appropriating money to townships for roads and bridges.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin TOWNSHIP ROADS AND BRIDGES; APPROPRIATION.

new text begin $5,000,000 in fiscal years 2020 and 2021 is appropriated from the general fund to the
commissioner of transportation for grants to townships for construction and rehabilitation
projects on town roads or bridges at the discretion of the recipient townships. The
commissioner shall develop a form for townships to apply for the grants and establish criteria
for awarding the grants, prioritizing awards based on need. This is a onetime appropriation.
