relating to state government; establishing Autism Awareness Day; proposing
coding for new law in Minnesota Statutes, chapter 10.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

new text begin (a) April 2 of each year is designated Autism Awareness Day to commemorate and
celebrate the unique talents and innovations of those individuals with autism in Minnesota
while raising awareness about individuals with autism throughout the state.

new text begin (b) Each year the governor shall issue a proclamation honoring the observance and
encouraging citizens to take the opportunity to learn about autism and to remember and
recognize the value and contributions of individuals with autism in the state.
