A bill for an act
relating to education; permitting youth groups of patriotic societies access to public
school buildings; proposing coding for new law in Minnesota Statutes, chapter
121A.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

new text begin [121A.12] YOUTH GROUPS OF PATRIOTIC SOCIETIES.

new text begin For two weeks every September, a school district must allow a youth group of a patriotic
society to have access to the public school buildings in the district to speak to students about
their society or organization. For the purposes of this section, "youth group of a patriotic
society" means a group or organization intended to serve young people under the age of 21
and includes Scouts BSA, the Girl Scouts of America, or any other youth group listed as a
patriotic society in United States Code, title 36.
