A bill for an act
relating to human services; appropriating money for a transitional housing program
located in Rice County; requiring a report.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin APPROPRIATION; TRANSITIONAL HOUSING PROGRAM LOCATED
IN RICE COUNTY.

new text begin (a) $50,000 in fiscal year 2020 is appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner
of human services for a transitional housing and support program located in Rice County
that serves women and children in crisis.

new text begin (b) This appropriation may be used to enhance current services and support provided
by the transitional housing and support program and to determine if the program's model
can be expanded statewide.

new text begin (c) The transitional housing and support program must submit data related to program
outcomes requested by the commissioner of human services on the forms and according to
the timelines established by the commissioner.

new text begin (d) The commissioner of human services shall report to the chairs and ranking minority
members of the legislative committees with jurisdiction over transitional housing programs
on the outcomes of the program and provide recommendations on expanding the program's
model statewide by February 1, 2020.
