A bill for an act
relating to liquor; authorizing persons under 21 serving in the armed forces to
consume, purchase, or possess alcohol; proposing coding for new law in Minnesota
Statutes, chapter 340A.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

MILITARY SERVICE.

new text begin Notwithstanding section 340A.503, a person who is 18, 19, or 20 years old that is serving
in active military service in the armed forces of the United States and who presents a valid
military identification card issued by the United States Department of Defense, may consume,
purchase, or possess alcoholic beverages. All other requirements of this chapter apply to
the consumption, purchase, or possession of alcoholic beverages under this section.
