A bill for an act
 relating to transportation; directing inclusion of a project on U.S. Highway 169 in
certain Department of Transportation planning.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin U.S. HIGHWAY 169 PLANNING.

new text begin (a) In the next update to the Department of Transportation's ten-year highway capital
investment plan, the commissioner of transportation must incorporate expansion of marked
U.S. Highway 169 to be a four-lane divided highway for the entire segment from Grand
Rapids to Virginia.

new text begin (b) The commissioner must not remove from the ten-year highway capital investment
plan any project that is included as specified in paragraph (a), unless it is completed.
