A bill for an act
relating to local government; prohibiting municipal identification cards for
undocumented immigrants; proposing coding for new law in Minnesota Statutes,
chapter 415.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

new text begin (a) The terms defined in this subdivision apply to this section.

new text begin (b) "Municipality" means a home rule charter or statutory city.

new text begin (c) "Municipal ID" means an identification card in physical or electronic form created
and provided by a municipality to a resident of the municipality that includes the individual's
name and address and any other identifying information.

new text begin (d) "Undocumented immigrant" means a noncitizen who resides in the United States
without the approval or acquiescence of the Immigration and Naturalization Service of the
United States Department of Justice.

undocumented immigrant.
