A bill for an act
relating to natural resources; tax-forfeited lands; providing a temporary
suspension of apportionment of proceeds from tax-forfeited lands in Lake
County.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin TEMPORARY SUSPENSION OF APPORTIONMENT OF
PROCEEDS FROM TAX-FORFEITED LANDS; LAKE COUNTY.

new text begin (a) Upon approval of an affected political subdivision within Lake County, the
Lake County Board may suspend the apportionment of the balance of net proceeds from
tax-forfeited lands within the affected political subdivision under Minnesota Statutes,
section 282.08, clause (4), item (iii), and retain the net proceeds. The authority under this
paragraph is available until Lake County suspends the apportionment of $2,200,000 in net
proceeds subject to item (iii). The money received by Lake County is to reimburse the
county for the purchase of 6,085 acres of forest land in 2006.

(a) is subject to apportionment as provided in Minnesota Statutes, section 282.08.
