A bill for an act
relating to transportation; designating a bridge in the city of Virginia as Tom
Rukavina Memorial Bridge; appropriating money for utility relocation costs;
amending Minnesota Statutes 2018, section 161.14, by adding a subdivision.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

Minnesota Statutes 2018, section 161.14, is amended by adding a subdivision
to read:

new text begin Tom Rukavina Memorial Bridge. new text end

new text begin The bridge on marked U.S. Highway 53
over a mining area easterly of 2nd Avenue West in the city of Virginia is designated as
"Tom Rukavina Memorial Bridge." Subject to section 161.139, the commissioner shall
adopt a suitable design to mark this bridge and erect appropriate signs.

Sec. 2. new text begin APPROPRIATION; U.S. HIGHWAY 53 UTILITIES RELOCATION.

new text begin $5,400,000 in fiscal year 2020 is appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner
of transportation for a grant to the city of Virginia to repay loans incurred by the city for
costs related to utility relocation for the U.S. Highway 53 project. This is a onetime
appropriation.
