1.1A Senate resolution
1.2congratulating the Minnetonka High School boys' hockey team on winning
1.3the 2018 State High School Class AA boys' hockey championship.
1.4WHEREAS, competitive sports in our high schools are helpful in teaching the principles of
1.5sportsmanship and fair play, thereby contributing to better citizenship; and
1.6WHEREAS, the top-seeded Minnetonka hockey team was one of eight teams that participated
1.7in the 2018 State High School Class AA boys' hockey tournament on March 8-10, 2018, at Xcel
1.8Energy Center; and
1.9WHEREAS, after beating Hill-Murray 6-2 in the quarterfinals and Centennial 6-3 in the
1.10semifinals, they defeated the Duluth East Greyhounds 5-2 in the final game of the tournament to
1.11win the state championship; and
1.12WHEREAS, the Skippers finished the season with an outstanding 27-2-2 record; and
1.13NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Minnesota that
1.14congratulations are extended to the members of the Minnetonka High School boys' hockey team
1.15and head coach Sean Goldsworthy for their sportsmanship and skill.
1.16BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is directed to prepare an
1.17enrolled copy of this resolution, to be authenticated by the Secretary's signature and that of the
1.18Chair of the Senate Rules and Administration Committee, and transmit it to the principal of
1.19Minnetonka High School.
